Newark, Ohio - Helen F. "Flory" Terlecki, 86, formerly of Struthers, died Tuesday morning, November 27, 2012 at Hospice of Central Ohio Inpatient Care Center in Newark.
Mrs. Terlecki was born May 18, 1926 in Struthers, a daughter of George and Lottie Adamczyk Floryjanski. She lived in Struthers until moving to Newark in December of 2007.
She was a graduate of Struthers High School and was employed at the General Electric Bulb Plant as an assembler until 1956.
Mrs. Terlecki was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Byzantine Rite, a former member of St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, the Polish Women's Alliance of America, and several card clubs throughout the years. She was a wonderful and dedicated homemaker who loved cooking for her family. Helen also enjoyed going out to dinner and the movies with her friends.
Her husband, Michael "Coach" Terlecki, Jr., whom she married June 21, 1952, died November 19, 2005. She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Deacon John) Barbour of Newark and Patty (Larry) Sabino of Cincinnati; six, grandchildren, Michael (Casey) Barbour of Newark, Jonathan (Allie) Barbour of Huntingtown, MD, Eric (Alex) Barbour of Monroe, Brent Sabino of Knoxville, TN, Lindsey Sabino, and Lauren Sabino, both of Cincinnati; 4 great-grandchildren, Blake, Audrey, Evan, and Liam Barbour.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a sister, Jennie Bogan; and brother, Stanley Floryjanski.
A prayer service will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers followed by a Funeral of Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Byzantine Rite. Entombment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home, where a Panachida service will take place Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
