Helen Begala Parsons,94 Youngstown âa�" Helen Begala Parsons, 94 of Country Club Avenue died Monday afternoon at her residence. She was born in Struthers, Ohio October 4, 1909, a daughter of Stephen and Katherine Zubura Begala. She lived in Columbus, Kansas from 1947-1952 and 1974-2001. Mrs. Parsons received a BA from Ohio University. She was a school teacher at Highland School in Struthers from 1929-1947. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Youngstown and Columbus, Kansas. Her husband, Ernest R. Parsons, whom she married June 17, 1947, died November 20, 1991. She leaves two daughters, Mary Parsons of Struthers and Martha Parsons of Youngstown, OH; one son, Joe (Donna) Parsons of Bremerton, Washington; two sisters, Josephine Clutter of Geneva, OH and Blanche Clark of Girard, OH; one brother, June Begala of New Hampshire; and three grandchildren, Ernie and Ruth Parsons; and Jacob Lee Harver. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Bobby, Katherine Bury, Ann Cigolle, Ilona Striplin, and Connie Parsons; and three brothers, John Begalla, Steve Begalla, and Joe Begala. Graveside services will be Friday 11 AM at Park Cemetery, Columbus, Kansas. Local arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
