Helen Hosa

CANFIELD- There will be a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday at 10:00 at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers for Helen (Nedostup) Hosa, 91, of 4970 Tippecanoe Road, formerly of Poland Ave, who died Monday evening at Hospice House.
Mrs. Hosa was born January 14, 1924 in Campbell, a daughter of George and Michalina Ostapowicz Nedostup. Helen attended Campbell Memorial High School and was a life-long resident of Campbell and Struthers, moving to Canfield later in her life. She was also a parishioner of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.
Helen worked as a waitress at the Hotel Pick Ohio in downtown Youngstown, and later went on to own her own restaurant called Helen's in Struthers. During World War II, she worked at General Fireproofing where she made aircraft parts. Helen also worked at Weatherbee Triangle Raincoat Factory, Playkee Toys and various other places throughout her life.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband James L. Hosa, whom she married July 25, 1942, and who passed in 2001; sisters Eva, Anna and Elizabeth, and brothers Nicholas, Peter, Adam, Paul, Michael and Joseph.
She leaves behind one daughter, Beverly (Dennis) Mordocco of Canfield; one sister, Catherine Webster of Morgan Hill, California; and one granddaughter, Danielle Mordocco of Canfield who brought her more joy than she could ever imagine. Helen looked so forward to her visits, which were almost daily with Danielle and cherished the memories they made throughout the 27 years they spent together. Helen enjoyed watching Danielle in all of her activities throughout the years and was so proud of her accomplishments. Helen also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all of the staff at Hospice House for all of the kind and loving care that was given to Helen during her stay.
