Warren - Helen R. Curran, 97, formerly of Youngstown and Struthers, died July 20, 2018 at Windsor House at Champion.
Helen was born January 14, 1921 in DuBois, PA, a daughter of Thomas and Ida Runyan Martin, and came to Youngstown at the age of four.
She attended East High School and during World War II, Helen worked in the Ravenna Arsenal. She later worked for Penn Ohio Towel on the assembly line and retired at the age of 65 from the Youngstown Public School System, where she worked in Environmental Services.
More recently, Helen enjoyed playing board games and bingo. The family would like to express their appreciation and send a special thank you to Over the Rainbow Day Care and Windsor at Champion for the helpful and compassionate care they gave to Helen and her family.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Angela) Curran of Cortland, Bill Curran of Struthers; daughter, Evelyn Curran of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, Bob, Kathleen, Richard, and Kimberly; three step-grandchildren, Teresa, Patricia, and Shelli; three great-grandchildren, Timmy, Haylee, and McKenzie; three step great-grandchildren, Lana, Caegan, and Savannah; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, George, Leo, Thomas, James, William, Catherine, Marcella, and two infants; and her daughter-in-law, Anita Curran.
Per Helen's wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.
