Helen Irene Berg

Berlin Center - Helen Irene Berg, 93, of Berlin Center, formerly of Poland Avenue in Struthers, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at her daughter's residence. Mrs. Berg was born September 23, 1914 in Ambridge, PA, a daughter of Carl John and Anna Louise (Larsen) Larson. Mrs. Berg was a homemaker. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Struthers, where she was a member of its Women's Association and a Girl Scout leader. Her husband, E. Irving Berg, whom she married August 25, 1937, died November 30, 1984. She leaves two daughters, Linnea V. Berg of Lowellville and Kathryn Whitfield of Berlin Center; one son, C. Edward Berg; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Gurlie Helmstoedter, Amy Fowler, Louise Larson, and Linnea Wolfcale; and two brothers, Anton and Niles Larson. Family will receive friends Friday from 2-3:45 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church, 250 Sexton St., Struthers, where funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating.
