Boardman - Hazel Marie Chambers, 96, of The Greenbriar, formerly of Struthers and Andover, died early Saturday morning at the nursing home. Mrs. Chambers was born October 10, 1911 in Teagarden, Ohio, a daughter of Walter and Mary Siferd Hanna. She was raised in New Springfield and came to Struthers in 1933. She resided in Andover for 20 years before returning to this area. She was a former member of the Andover United Methodist Church and attended the Struthers Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Chambers was very proud to be a 50 year member of the Miriam Chapter of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Fifty-Five and Over Club in Andover. A wonderful homemaker, Mrs. Chambers enjoyed quilting and will be forever remembered for hosting family gatherings, her cooking and baking, and her specialty, homemade pies. Her husband of 50 years, Ralph Chambers, whom she married August 7, 1933, died July 11, 1983. She leaves her daughter, June (Donald) Stoeber of Struthers; two sisters, Martha Blosser of New Waterford, OH and Edith Franklin of Salem, OH; two brothers, Eugene Hanna of Columbiana, OH and Paul Hanna of Struthers, OH; three grandsons, Eric (Christen) Stoeber of Cyprus, Texas, Aaron (Dominique) Stoeber of Canfield, OH, and Kurt (Shaun) Stoeber of Poland, OH; five great-grandchildren, Colin and Hayden Stoeber of Cyprus, TX, Corey Grimm of Canfield, OH, and Isabel and Luke Stoeber of Poland, OH. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Chambers was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two brothers, Winfield Hanna and Clayton Hanna; and one sister Esther Zarlingo. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 7:00 P.M. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Pastor Steve Breazier officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Chambers family would like to express their appreciation to all the caregivers of the Greenbriar for their kindness and compassion.
