Struthers - Harry "Rick" Hokanson, Jr., 64, of Struthers, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Hokanson was born November 8, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York, a son of Harry and Harriet Vogelsang Hokanson. He was a lifelong area of Northeast Ohio and has lived in Struthers since 1962. He was a 1961 graduate of Columbiana High School and received his associate's degree in business from Youngstown State University. Mr. Hokanson formerly worked in personnel for the Pollack Company, the Elmton in Struthers, as a 911 operator, and worked in automotive sales. He was a former member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. Mr. Hokanson was past president of the Struthers Baseball League and enjoyed his family and friends. He leaves his wife, Kathy, whom he married in April of 1989; his daughter, Michelle (Dr. Glen Ray) Ray of Poland; two sons, William (Kelly) Hokanson of Carmel, Indiana and Richard (Missi) Hokanson of North Ridgeville, Ohio; a sister, Kathy; two brothers, Jack and Tom; and 11 grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
