Harold Perkins, 83 Baltimore,MD- Harold Perkins, 83, formerly of Struthers, died Friday evening at Glen Meadows Retirement. Mr. Perkins was born on September 18,1919, a son of Henry and Sarah Thompson Perkins. He was a 1938 Struthers High School graduate. He worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube (LTV), where he retired in 1976. He was Constable in Boardman from 1953-1960 and was a Township Trustee from 1960-1976. When he retired from Sheet and Tube he became State Highway Superintendent for Mahoning County until 1986. He was a member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church, Struthers VFW Post #3538. He enlisted in United States Air Force in 1938 during WWII, where he was crew chief of a B-29. He was honorably discharged in 1944. His wife the former, Elizabeth Sarver, whom he married in 1944, died in 1993. He leaves three sons, Harold (Linda) Perkins of Farmington Hills, MI, Robert (Lynn) Perkins of Baltimore, MD, and Rick Perkins of Valley Springs, CA; one brother, Merle Perkins of Struthers; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale, Tom, and Bill Perkins. Funeral services will be Wednesday 10:30AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
