Gregory W. Maizel

Struthers - Gregory W. Maizel, 61, of Struthers, formerly of Naples, FL. died peacefully Wednesday evening, January 31, 2018 at his residence.

Greg was born July 5, 1956 in Youngstown, a son of William and Carol Pratt Maizel.

A life-long resident of Struthers, Greg was a 1974 graduate of Struthers High School. He was employed at Commercial Shearing and then Local Laborers Union #125. In 1996 Greg moved to Ormond Beach and in 2004 to Naples Fl., and was employed as Regional Maintenance Manager for Holiday Retirement Corp. Greg returned to Struthers in the summer of 2017.

Greg was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He will be best remembered for his stubborn character, hardworking ethics and as they say, "a true Struthers guy inside and out." Greg lived his life the way he wanted to live it.

Greg leaves his mother, Carol of Lowellville; the mother of his children, Wendy Wagner Maizel of Struthers; two daughters, Starr (Rick) Wagner and Sarah Maizel both of Chicago, IL; two sons, Gregory and Seth Maizel both of Struthers; two brothers, Douglas (Diane) Maizel of Lowellville and Timothy (Brenda) Maizel of Dayton, OH; and two grandchildren, Noah Maizel and Charlotte Wagner.

In addition to his father William, Greg was preceded in death by his brother, William Thomas Maizel and infant brother, Kenneth Maizel.

A private Memorial Service were held today, Saturday,  at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers with Pastor James Berkebile officiating.
