A Memorial service will be held Monday, 11:30 AM at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church for Grace D. Scott, 93 of Park Vista Retirement Center, formerly of Glenpark Rd.
She passed away Thursday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Mrs. Scott was born Nov. 8, 1917 in Youngstown, a daughter of David R. and Anna Abplanalp Hughes. She is a 1936 graduate of South High School and had worked for the City of Youngstown as an assistant City Clerk, the Selective Service during WWII, and Westerfield Insurance Company as a secretary.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Miriam Chapter and the YMCA.
Her husband J. Grant Scott, whom she married Nov. 14, 1940 died May 8, 2005.
Surviving her is a daughter and son in law, Nancy and Edward Raymond of Raleigh, NC., a sister Jean Geller of Boardman, two grandsons, E. Scott (Susan) Raymond and John Raymond. Also a great granddaughter Sophie Raymond
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband are four brothers, Gomer, David, Harold, and Norman Hughes and three sisters, Isabelle Hughes, Anna Dunstan, Verna Yates and Kathryn Benish.
Friends may call Monday from 11-11:30am at the Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5180 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
