Grace L. Nichols

Nichols, Grace L., 84 Poland- Grace Louise Nichols, 84, formerly of North Main Street, Poland, died Saturday morning at the Greenbriar Health Care Center. She was born January 4, 1918, in Struthers to John and Mary Isaacs Godward. She was a 1936 graduate of Struthers High School and has been a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Nichols worked for Hartzell Rose and Sons as the Assistant Credit Manager, retiring in 1974, after 20 years of service. She was a 50 year member of the Poland Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Miriam Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star # 278. Besides her husband William Nichols, whom she married October 21, 1960, she leaves two daughters: Patricia (Timothy) Ludt of Hot Springs, AR; Kathleen Hennon of Struthers; one brother: William Godward of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren: Tammy Zelenak; Tim Ludt; Tom Ludt; Ted Ludt; Justine Hennon; Jared Hennon; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband John Harkins, whom she married in July 1,1939, and who died January 5, 1952. A Funeral Service will be held 5PM, Monday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call at the Funeral Home, Monday, from 3:30- 5 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Rich Center for Autism C/O of Youngstown State University, Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
