LOWELLVILLE- Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lowellville Christian Church for Mrs. Grace Fitch, wife of Rev. Owen D. Fitch of 236 First Street in Lowellville. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Caprice Health Care Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Fitch was born March 1, 1922 in Youngstown to Elmer and Hattie Blunt Ausnehmer.
Mrs. Fitch graduated from South High School in 1940 and Practical Bible Training School in 1943. She was a member of the Lowellville Christian Church where she served as organist for over 60 years, member of the Missionary Society, Gleaners Class, and was a Sunday School teacher. For many years, she also played the organ for Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville.
She leaves her husband, Rev. Owen D. Fitch, whom she married 68 years ago on December 25, 1941; her children, Charles (Kathy) Fitch of Edinburg, Pa., Jean (Dick) Williams of Leverett, Mass., Timothy (Ruth) Fitch of Ft. Myers, Fla., and F. Richard (Debbie) Fitch of Pulaski, Pa.; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Ausnehmer.
Family and friends will be received Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 calling a.m. at the Lowellville Christian Church, 44 E. Wood Street. Interment will take place at Lowellville Cemetery where a graveside committal service will take place.
