Gordon Chesnut

Gordon Chesnut, 84, passed away, August 31, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Gordon was born March 20, 1935 in Cowansville, PA, a son of Walter and Wilda McDonald Chesnut.

He attended Butler High School and held numerous jobs to support his family. He retired from Nelson Tree Service in 1992. Gordon was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict from 1952 until 1956.

Gordon loved traveling, camping and spending time with family.

His wife the former Daisy Anthony, whom he married July 15, 1965, died October 16, 2009. He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Deborah (Larry) Barnes and Linda (Richard) Fraser all of Virginia Beach, VA, and Terri (Michael ) Katula of Struthers; three step-daughters, Bonnie (David) Perry of Jamestown, PA, Margaret Jones and Sandra Wynn both of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Shirley Meyers of Bradenton, FL; brother, Glenn (Mary) Bowser of Virginia Beach, VA; 15 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gordon was preceded in death by his step-father, Andrew Bowser; step-son, Butch Fehrman; and his former wife and good friend, Virginia Bossie.

Friends will be received Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service with Fr. Kevin Marks officiating at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Interment will follow at a later date in Coitsville Cemetery.
