Boardman - Gloria M. Haski, 92, died Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Assumption Village in North Lima.
Mrs. Haski was born February 14, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andrew and Nellie Glowaki Kushner.
Raised in Youngstown, Gloria was a 1944 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. As a teenager, she worked in a dress shop in downtown Youngstown and later for General Electric as a light bulb inspector. In later years, she also worked on the line for Impex in North Lima.
On November 24, 1949, she married Joseph C. Haski, and that same year they purchased their home in Boardman, where they raised their two children. Gloria was a dedicated homemaker, who enjoyed taking care of her home and cooking for her family.
Mrs. Haski was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and its bowling league for many years. In her freetime, she enjoyed doing crossword and word puzzles, playing solitaire, being outdoors around nature, and caring for her cats.
Her husband, Joseph, preceded her in death on March 9, 2003. Gloria is survived by her son, Martin (Candace) Haski of Edinburg, PA; daughter, Marcia Burgy of Boardman; six grandchildren, Heidi (Hector) Escobar of Bellbrook, Jonathan (Milena) Haski of New York City, Melissa (Jan-Micheal) Smith-Earl of Boardman, Donald (Amber) Burgy of Boardman, Michael Burgy of Boardman, and Kaitlin (Terry) Rankin of Columbiana; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service was held today for the family at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Interment took place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
