Poland - Glenna Lou Myers, 76, of Poland went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 10, 2008. She peacefully passed away at her home with her family at her bedside. Mrs. Myers was born October 21, 1931 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late William H. and Annabel F. Wingard Myers. A 1949 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, she worked as a secretary for East High School prior to her marriage. Mrs. Myers was a true homemaker and took pride in devoting herself to providing a loving and caring home for her family. She took pleasure in playing the organ and served as organist for the Second United Presbyterian Church and the Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church, where she was a former member of both churches. She also served as a deacon and an elder at the Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Myers enjoyed bowling and collecting dolls, nutcrackers, and dishes. She leaves her husband of 56 years, George "Ted" Myers, whom she married June 27, 1952; two sons, Thomas A. Myers of New Waterford and James (Patricia) Myers of Strongsville; and four grandchildren, Lori Karla, Jeffrey Mulac, Lindsey Mulac, all of Cleveland and William T. Myers of Strongsville. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel. Interment will follow at the Poland Riverside Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday from 3-6 p.m. and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mrs. Myers' name to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, Ohio 44406.
