Glenn W. Buchner, 83 YOUNGSTOWN- Glenn W. Buchner , 83, of 5608 Southern Blvd., died Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mr. Buchner was born December 31, 1919 in Silver Hill, West Virginia, a son of Roy and Ocie Ramsey Buchner. He was a 1939 graduate of Columbiana High School and was a truck driver for Coy Brothers for 20 years. He also worked as a Security Guard at the Debartlo Corporation from 1976-1985. Mr. Buchner was a veteran of the United States Army during WW II, serving in the European Theatre where he received a purple heart for wounds. He was a member of the Evangel Baptist Church in Boardman. His first wife, Jean Stiles, whom he married in 1941, died in 1973. He then married the former, Shirley Cutsler September 26, 1974 who died November 9, 1998. He leaves one sister, Vilda Miller of Columbiana; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Karen and Gwyendolyn; a son, Glenn Buchner Jr.; and a step-sister, Betty Leiter. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland where friends may call from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM.
