YOUNGSTOWN-Gladys L. "Becky" Williams, 90, of Youngstown, died Sunday evening, April 17, 2011 at the Hospice House.
She was born September 30, 1920 in Struthers, a daughter of James and Dorothy May Richards Arnold.
Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Struthers High School. She worked at McKelvey's Department Store in the cosmetics department and later for Hartzell's Clothing Store.
Mrs. Williams was an active member of Christ's Church in Boardman, where she belonged to its Willing Workers Group. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her home and yard, and caring for her beloved cats, Lucky and Red.
Her husband, Leslie J. Williams, whom she married in June of 1946, died in 1998. She leaves her nephew, James (MonaRae) Kidd, Sr. of Seminole, Florida; a great niece, Terry (James) McDowell of Seminole, Florida; a great nephew, James (Debby) Kidd, Jr. of Largo, Florida; a great-great niece, Jessica Rae Kidd; Suzanne and Bill Florig and family and the Mazzolini family, all whom she considered a part of her extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy "Dodie" Daff and Maxine Kidd.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ's Church, 7155 Glenwood Avenue, Boardman.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
