CANFIELD - Gladys L. Kiddon Bahme, 80 passed away peacefully on March 7, 2009 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Poland, due to complications of COPD. She was a resident there since January 28, 2009. She was born in Granite City, Illinois on September 13, 1928, a daughter of Bill and Louise (Evans) Marr and raised in St. Louis, Missouri until her move to Struthers in 1946. Gladys married Julius Kiddon on January 23, 1946 in the Struthers United Methodist Church where she became a life long member. She resided on Schenley Avenue, Struthers, Knollwood Avenue, Poland; and Hopewell Drive in Struthers. Her employment included Almart Department Store; Livingston's Ladies Clothing; and Woolco Department Store. Her interests, which gave her much pleasure, were her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, church, friends, and former working years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Julius, who passed away March 23, 1971; her second husband, William D. Bahme, whom she married May 20, 1984, passed away on January 5, 2000, and a daughter, Marilyn E. (Kiddon) Phillips who passed away on January 30, 1982. Gladys leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jeanette (Jack) Little, of Canfield, with whom she made her home from July, 2005 until January 2009; one son, James (Karen) Kiddon of Fort Wayne, IN; and four grandchildren: Jill Little of Greenford, James (Kathryn) Little of Canton, Jeremy (Rachel) Little of Worthington, and Stacey (Matthew) Miller of Poland; six great-grandchildren, and her poodle, Cheri. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. The family expresses sincere thanks to St. Elizabeth Hospital, Boardman Campus; Sunrise Assisted Living of Poland; Grace Hospice of Ohio; Pastor Bruce Irwin; Home Instead Senior Care; and friends and co-workers for all their care, support, concern and prayers throughout her illness. Memorial contributions may be given in Gladys name to the Struthers United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 33 Sexton Street, Struthers OH 44471 "When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
