Gertrude R. LeBaron

Struthers - Gertrude R. LeBaron, 86, died Friday, February 16, 2024, at Hospice of the Valley's Hospice House. 

Gertrude, affectionately known as "Gertie," was born February 26, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Joseph and Anna (Vonhandle) Bobonick.

She was a 1955 graduate of Chaney High School and worked for Schwebel Baking Co. as a payroll supervisor for 46 years, retiring in 2008. 

In her leisure time, Gertie enjoyed being with her family, cooking, baking, reading mystery novels and her Bible, and collecting Christmas pins and owls. A natural caregiver, Gertie cared for her parents in their later years. 

In addition to her parents, Gertie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donovan R. LeBaron, on February 3, 2020; her daughter, Jodi Ann LeBaron on May 7, 2021; and her siblings, Eleanor Garstka and Thomas "Bob" Bobonick. 

She is survived by several special nieces and nephews. 

Per Gertie's request, there will be no calling hours or service. She was laid to rest at Poland Riverside Cemetery next to her husband and daughter.
