Geraldine Mary Nix Sumner

Geraldine Mary Nix Sumner, 59 New Springfield- Geraldine Mary Nix Sumner, 59, died Saturday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus. Mrs. Sumner was born in Youngstown July 27, 1944, a daughter of Avery and Norma Stiles Nix. She was a 1962 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and was a 1964 graduate of Nursing School. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in Greenford, where she was she was involved in the Ladies Missionary. Her husband, Jim Sumner, whom she married July 8, 1972, died January 19, 1997. She leaves her father, Avery Nix of North Carolina; one daughter, Lugene (Dave) Sumner-Harris of New Springfield; one son, Thomas (Jennifer) Sumner of Pasadena, Maryland; one sister, JoAnn (Nick) Colla of Struthers; one brother, Mike Nix of Maryland; and one granddaughter, Cassie. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Nix. Funeral services will be Wednesday 1 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends may call Wednesday one hour prior at the funeral home.
