Struthers - Geraldine A. "Gerry" Gingery, 84, of Struthers, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Gerry was born June 30, 1930 in Struthers, a daughter of John and Barbara Popovich Joseph.
A life long residence of Struthers, Gerry was a 1949 June graduate of Struthers High School. She was a cashier at Kroger's for several years. Gerry was a dedicated homemaker. She loved raising and taking care of her family, and spending precious time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her motherly intuition and engaging laugh.
Gerry was a former member of the Struthers Band Booster, she enjoyed Word Find, playing cards especially 500 Bid, and watching football. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.
Gerry leaves her husband, John Gingery, whom she married February 19, 1955; one daughter, Daria (Robert) Travaline of Lowellville; three sons, John J Gingery of Poland, Robert Gingery of Struthers, and Michael (Melony) Gingery of Parkersburg, WV; one sister, Valeria (Eugene) Krystek of Youngstown; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Joseph of Struthers; and six grandchildren, Kerri Gingery, Lindsey Gingery, Mario (Kirsten) Travaline, Katie Travaline, Vince Travaline, and Tyler Gingery; and one great-grandson Micah Travaline.
Besides her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Donald Joseph; and her infant sister, Patricia Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 10:00 AM at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church, with Fr. Bernard Bonnot officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
Friends will be received Monday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, where a Prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM.
