Geraldine (Leeson) Calabrese

May 26, 1937 — June 27, 2017

Geraldine (Leeson) Calabrese passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27th with family at her side.

Geraldine was born on May 26th, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Peter and Julia Leeson.

Raised in Youngstown, Geraldine graduated from Ursuline High School in 1955.

She was married to John (Jack) Calabrese for sixty years and resided in Poland, Ohio and Sarasota, Florida.

After raising three children, she enjoyed a successful career in real estate in the Youngstown area.

Her family brought her much joy, and she most enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Geraldine leaves behind her husband John, daughter Gina (Brad) Schumer of Poland, son Dr. Richard (Sue) Calabrese of Cave Creek, AZ, and daughter Lisa (John) Beach of Columbia, SC.

She leaves five grandchildren, David (Giannalisa) Schumer, Kenzie (Kyle) Powell, Matthew Beach, Kennon Beach and Kevin Calabrese. She also leaves four great grandchildren, a brother, Dr. Peter Leeson, and sister, Gloria Appenzeller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 10:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Church, New Middletown. Friends may call today from 4-7 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where a Prayer Service will be held Friday at 9:15 AM.

Geraldine’s family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Traikoff for his life-long family support and Dr. Louis Vollino for his most recent service.
