Georgetta V. Welker, 92 Youngstown- Georgetta V. Welker, 92, died early Tuesday morning at Select Specialty Hospital at St. Elizabeth. Mrs. Welker was born May 31, 1913 in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph and Erla Hartranft Davis. She was a life-long area resident. She was a 1931 graduate of The Rayen School and was employed by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 37 years retiring as a supervisor in 1976. Mrs. Welker also was co-owner of the Raccoon Party Shop. She was a member of St. Christine Church, St. Christine and St. Joseph Senior Citizens Club, a volunteer for St. Elizabeth Infant Hearing Program, and member and past- president of the Ohio Bell Pioneer Club. Her husband John W. Welker whom she married July 4, 1939, died April 1, 1978. Mrs. Welker is survived by two daughters, Erla (Richard) Magni of Poland and Kay Commings of Youngstown; five grandchildren, Michele (Bruce) Ciccone, Richard (Jane) Magni Jr., Kathleen (Sante) Valentini, Roland (Alayne) Commings, Lori Kay Commings and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Welker was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Davis, two brothers, William and Earl Davis and a son-in-law, Don Commings. Funeral services will be Friday, 9:15 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 10:00 AM at St. Christine Church.
