George J. Repasky

Boardman - George J. Repasky, 82, of Boardman, died Thursday evening June 13, 2019 at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born June 15, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of George and Margaret (Blasko) Repasky and had been a lifelong area resident.

George was a graduate of South High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was also a graduate of Youngstown State University where he majored in Mathematics. He worked for several years at General Motors and then worked as a consultant for a large firm in Texas that serviced over 300 major manufacturers. George was also a licensed pilot and flight instructor. He also flew many charter flights.

In high school, he played basketball and baseball. Upon graduation he was recruited by nine Major League baseball teams, signing with the Cleveland Indians. After playing several years, his career ended following a leg injury during spring training. George was an avid golfer and had won the Ohio State Senior Golf Championship.

Besides his wife, the former Marie Jakubovic, he leaves two daughters, Diane (Bob) Danylchak of Monroe Falls and Dr. Lynn (Christopher) Nieman of Winchester, Va.; three sons, Kenneth (Lynne) Repasky of Atlanta, GA., Dr. Ronald (Maureen) Repasky of Winchester, Va., and Dr. Kevin (Terri) Repasky of Bozeman, MO; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday June 28, 2019 at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman with Deacon Mike Kocjancic officiating. the family will receive friends from 5:00-5:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
