Struthers - George H. Orf, Jr., 78, died Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
George was born August 31, 1935 in Struthers, a son of George and Laurabell Ferguson Orf.
He was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and entered the United States Navy Reserves after graduation. George was a member of the Ironworkers Local 207 and worked as an Ironworker, retiring after 44 years of service.
In his free time, George enjoyed bowling and golfing in his earlier years, hunting, and fishing, especially enjoying his annual fishing trips to Canada.
He leaves his wife, the former Irene Hempstead, whom he married March 10, 1957; three sons, Charles (Mary Jo) Orf of Franklin, PA, Kenneth (Debbie) Orf of Lowellville, and Michael (Cindy) Orf of Struthers; sister, Lois Ballew of Florida; four grandchildren, Charles, Jacob, Michael, and Kenny Orf.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Allen and a brother, Robert Orf.
