George R. Muntean

Poland - George R. Muntean, 67, of Poland, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, February 14, 2024 at home. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, the former Andrea Mantini, whom he married on October 2, 1982 on a beautiful fall day. 
 
 George was born July 10, 1956 in Youngstown, a son of the late Nicholas and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hertz Muntean.
 
 A 1974 graduate of Poland High School, George expressed his love for his fellow bulldogs by not only playing for the team but also coaching the little bulldogs. He spent many years while his children grew up coaching them in all their sports. He continued to cheer on his grandchildren in their sports teams and teaching them the tricks of making a good touchdown. George worked for many years for R and J Trucking as a truck driver and dispatcher. He enjoyed bowling in a league at the Holiday Bowl. Above all, George cherished most being a wonderful husband, father, and poppop. His warmhearted and welcoming personality will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him. 
 
 In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Muntean of Tampa, FL; daughter, Justina Bundy of Struthers, OH, and Mike Bundy, Sr. who was like a son to him; two grandsons, Eddie Bundy, Michael Bundy, Jr.; brother, Nick (Bev) Muntean of Struthers, OH; two sisters, Tina (Danny) Montgomery of Poland, OH and Liz (Robert) Colbert of Boardman, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. 
 
 Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 22nd, at 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow at the Church of the Rock, 7025 Luteran Ln, Youngstown, OH 44514 with Pastor Reid Lamport officiating.
