Struthers - George J. Kosco, Jr., 59, died Wednesday February 15, 2012 at Vibra Hospital in Boardman.
Mr. Kosco was born January 2, 1953 in Youngstown, a son of George and Olga (Boyarko) Kosco.
A lifelong resident of Struthers, he was a 1971 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and attended Youngstown State University. Prior to being paralyzed in an automobile accident in 1988, Mr. Kosco worked as a salesman for Valley Pontiac in Youngstown and was later running the family business, the Struthers News Stand.
He was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer and he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He leaves his mother, Olga, whom he made his home with; his brother, Edward Kosco of Girard; and two nieces and a nephew, Megan , Marie, and Jonathan Kosco
He was preceded in death by his father.
A prayer service will be held Saturday 11:00AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM at St. Nicholas Church. Entombment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Friday from 6-8 PM. at the funeral home.
