George Francis Hoover

George Francis Hoover, 90 Poland-George Francis Hoover, 90, died Sunday at his residence. He was born in Struthers on July 10, 1914, a son of Florence and Ambrose Hoover. Mr. Hoover was a 1929 Struthers High School graduate. He worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube(LTV), where he retired in 1976. He was a longtime treasurer for both the Menâa�a��s Garden Club in Youngstown and Central Great Lakes Region Garden Club. He was a F&AM Mason for 60 years. George was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church, where he was treasurer of Board of Deacons and treasurer of Mariners, and a table parent for Logos family program for children He leaves a brother, Glen of Sun City, FL; a nephew, Charles Dittmar of Fort Wayne, IN; and 5 great-nieces. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Hamilton ; a brother Bruce Hoover; and a sister Helen Dittmar.
