Gene Curtis Davis, 83
POLAND Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman for Gene Curtis Davis, 83, formerly of Glenwood Avenue in Boardman. He passed away Wednesday at Shepherd of the Valley-Boardman.
Mr. Davis was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Youngstown, a son of Joseph W. and Beatrice (Black) Davis.
He graduated from South High School and attended Youngstown College. Gene had worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube and General Motors-Lordstown Plant as an Industrial Electrician. He also was a licensed Ohio Insurance agent.
He was a member of the Boardman United Methodist Church, Western Star Lodge No. 21 F.&A.M., A.O.P.A., United Steel Workers and United Auto Workers.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving him is his wife, the former Wanda Burns, whom he married Feb. 7, 1953; his children, Gregory (Sylvia) Davis of Roxbury, Conn., Karen Sue (Todd Dean) Davis of Seattle, Susan (Bill) Kilar of Hubbard, Douglas Lee
(DeLynn) Davis of Charleston, W.Va. and Wendy (Larry) Catchpole of Tallmadge; a sister Barbara (Fred) Druschel of Austintown; seven grandchildren, Renee, Meredith, Ross, Sean, Anna, Cory, and Emily; and a great-grandson.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are two brothers, William Joseph and Donald Robert Davis.
The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the Church Memorial Fund, Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., Boardman, OH or the donor¹s choice.
The family would like to thank the Southern Care Hospice, Shepherd of the Valley, Dr. David Hoffman and Dr. Adrian Ieraci for the care they gave Gene.
