Struthers - Gary Wilson, 57,of Struthers, died Thursday afternoon at UPMC, Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Gary was born April 25, 1954 in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Ruth Jones Wilson.
A life-long resident of Struthers, Gary was a 1972 graduate of Struthers High School. He worked as a Class 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator for the City of Struthers Wastewater Treatment Plant where he was also a founding member of AFSCME Union Local 579.
Gary was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman, a member and officer of the Struthers Gridiron Club, and a member of the Elmton Golf League. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.Gary was known for his gentle soul with a personality to match and will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and special friend to many. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Gary leaves his wife, the former Judy Cabuno, whom he married February 26, 1977; two children, Jackie (Ray) Boila of Struthers and Christopher (Lauren) Wilson of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Vincent and Patrick Boila; one sister, Deborah Wilson of Canfield;two nieces, Laurie and Cassie Wilson; and his mother-in-law, Josephine Cabuno of North Lima.
Judy and her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff at UPMC Mercy Hospital, and especially to their dear friends and the families of Struthers who showered them with prayers and support during the past month.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman with Pastor Brett Rizzo officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio.
Friends will be received Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland, and Tuesday from 10:00-10:45 AM at the church.
