Struthers - Gary A. James Sr., 77, died October 27, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital surrounded by his family
Gary was born April 15, 1937 in St. Joseph, Missouri, a son of Raymond and Wilma Pervis Morain.
He worked in customer service East Ohio Gas now Dominion for 37 years before retiring in 1995.
Gary loved telling jokes to make people laugh, going to garage sales, and country music. Gary will always be remembered for the best Elvis parties and was always offering his repair expertise.
He is survived by his wife, the former Vinerva Horner, whom he married May 25, 1963; two sons, Gary A. James of Howland and Shawn (Anitra) James of Poland; one daughter, Tamara (Edward) Cifra of Struthers; son-in-law Gary Pierce; ten grandchildren, Anna James, Charlotte James, Ryan (Denise) James, Autumn James, Alex Cifra, Adam Cifra, Karah Pierce, Sam James, Alayna James, Alexa James; one sister, Sandra Curl of Texas; two brothers, James (Joyce) Morain of Florida, and Dennis Morain of Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Evan James.
Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey A. James; one daughter, Vicki L. Pierce; and one brother, Thomas Morain.
Services will be Thursday at 7PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers.
Friends and family will be received Thursday from 5-7PM at the funeral home.
