Lowellville - Gary L. Grimm, 78, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at his home unexpectedly.
Gary was born December 2, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Eugene and Matilda (Gillen) Grimm.
He attended Poland Seminary High School and was a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley.
Gary was an auto mechanic for over 40 years, working for G & A Auto in New Springfield before retiring.
He was a sportsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting deer, pheasant, and rabbit. He was a lifetime member of Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, where he volunteered at the Fish Fry for many years. He was also a member of the East Palestine Sportsmen's Club.
Gary is survived by two brothers, David E. (Patricia) Grimm of Lowellville, OH and Joseph F. (Margaret) Grimm of Youngstown, OH; his sister-in-law, Barbara Grimm of Lowellville; five nieces, Christine Norcross, Karen Grimm, Rebecca Cefalde, Kimberly Slattery, and Melanie Trimble; a nephew, Richard C. Grimm; and six great-nieces; three great-nephews; and many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard A. Grimm; a niece, Tammy Dunkel; and a great nephew, Dylan Lupton.
Per Gary's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery in Poland.
Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring Street in Struthers.
