Frederick Slaven Sr. Struthers- Frederick Slaven Sr., died Tuesday afternoon at Carrington South. Mr. Slaven was born in Struthers March 13, 1921. He was a timekeeper for William B. Pollock (GATX) for 28 years. He enjoyed making toys for various childrenâa�a��s hospitals. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WW II. His wife the former, Lucille Lawn, whom he married December 26, 1941, died in June 1996. He leaves two sons, Frederick Slaven of Struthers and Chuck (Rita) Slaven of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; five grandchildren, Kathleen Tyler, Kevin Slaven, Matthew Slaven all of Texas; and Gregory and Michele Slaven of Sioux Falls; and three great- grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, and Daniel Slaven of Sioux Falls. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers please donate a toy to a Childrenâa�a��s Hospital of your choice in honor of Frederick Slaven Sr.
