St. Paris - Frederick Hughes, 76 of St. Paris, OH, died Monday, November 27, 2006 in Mercy Medical Center. Mr. Hughes was born Friday, March 7, 1930 in Warren, Ohio, Son of the late Frederick Hughes and the late Alice Chantrey.He was raised in Youngstown, and resided in Boardman for 40 years before moving to St. Paris three years ago. He was a 1949 graduate of South High School and worked as a Tool and Dye Maker for Packard Electric retiring in 1997. Prior to Packard Electric he worked with Lake Park Tool & Dye and at one time was a mechanic for Handels Gas Station. Mr. Hughes was an Army Veteran serving in the the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1957. He was a former member of the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church in Youngstown, the Youngstown Mannerchor, Youngstown F.O.E. #3298, New Middletown Sportsman Club, and life-time member of the NRA. He was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed shooting. He is survived by his wife the former Rayma J. Wynn whom he married September 9, 1961; two daughters, Nina (Rexford) Ruth Link, of FL, and Rayma (Daniel) Lee Dade of St. Paris, OH; two sons, Bob (Sara) Hughes of Van Wert, OH, and Brian (Kathy) Hughes of Springfield Township, OH; Sister, Luticia Hughes of TX; two brothers, Herbert Hughes of Ellsworth, OH, and John (Mary Lou) Hughes of Muskingham, MI; five grandchildren, Kati (C.J.) Long, Robert Hughes, Amanda Hughes, Max Dade, Maggie Dade; two great-grandchildren, Jon Michael Long and Tyler John Long: and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Alice Collins. Funeral services will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev.Van Chiles of the Calla Nondenominational Church of Canfield officiating. Friends will be received from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM Saturday at the at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, OH.
