Struthers - Frederick H. Groner, 89, of Struthers, died Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2019 at Hampton Woods in Poland.
Fred was born July 6, 1930 in Struthers, a son of Harry and Hazel (Dittman) Groner and had been a lifelong area resident.
Fred owned and operated Jack's Auto Body in Struthers. In 1993 he retired after 40 years of service. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Fred served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Struthers VFW Post #3538 and a member of the former Struthers A.C. Club.
His wife, the former Rosemary McShane, whom he married February 26, 1960 died January 22, 2009. He leaves four sons, John Franceschelli of Monroe, NC, Henry (Kathy) Franceschelli and James (Lisa) Franceschelli all of Struthers, and Harry (Vicki) Groner of New Middletown; one son-in-law Michael Flaherty of Struthers; and eleven grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Fred was preceded in death by a two daughters Linda and her husband Bud Jones and Sherry Flaherty; one brother, John Groner; and a sister, Virginia Snyder.
A service celebrating Fred's life will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 4-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
