Ravenna - Frederick J. Costello, 71 of Ravenna, formerly of Lowellville, died February 24, 2013 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Costello was born June 12, 1941 in Lowellville, a son of Fred and Anna (Tomasino)Costello,
He was a 1959 graduate of Struthers High School, and was a basketball and fast pitch player for many years and was an avid golfer. Fred worked for Equifax for 25 years and then started his own company doing criminal background checks, before retiring in 2003. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. Fred looked forward to his yearly trip to New York to watch the Yankee's play.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his long time companion, Pam Christy of Ravenna; two brothers, Guy (Patricia) Costello of Poland and Chuck Costello of Struthers; three sisters,Valerie (Bob) Witherow of Columbus, Gloriann (Harry) Sechrist of Virginia Beach, and Maryann (Bruce) Lucas of St. Louis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
A prayer service will be held Friday at 10:30AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church.
Friends and family will be received Thursday from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
