Services will be held Thursday, 11:00am at Davis-Becker Funeral Home for Freda R. Hofmeister formerly of Melbourne Ave. Boardman. She passed away Monday morning at Blossom Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Salem.
Mrs. Hofmeister was born May 26, 1919 in Youngstown, a daughter of Louis H. and Emma C. Lange Gluck.
Freda is a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, and a 1937 graduate of South High School. She went into cosmetology, and sang with the Arian Chorus. After her marriage she directed the Versatile Singers and later started a 20 year business in her home doing paper tole wedding invitations.
Her husband, Richard L. Hofmeister whom she married November 17, 1946 died November 9, 2008.
Surviving her is a daughter, Judie (John) Conti of Boardman, three sons, Richard L. (Kristin) Hofmeister of Austintown, Leroy W. (Teresa) Hofmeister of Bossier City, LA and Donald L. Hofmeister and his partner, Donna McGuire-Cole of Austintown. Also three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents are two brothers, William and Al Gluck and a sister Lois McCracken, and two grandchildren Amy Hofmeister and Eric Hofmeister.
Friends may call from 10-10:50am on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hofmeisters family would like to thank everyone at the Blossom Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful and loving care they gave their mother.
