Youngstown - Fred C. Stefan, 83, died August 17, 2016 St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born September 30, 1932 in Youngstown to the late George and Matilda Stefan.
Fred was a 1950 graduate of North High School and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from International Mill Service, where he was employed as an Operating Engineer. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #66, District #2 and attended Christ United Presbyterian Church. Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting and Westerns. He loved keeping his house up and doing yard work. Fred was a very social person and his door was always open to guests. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and for being a very loving man.
He leaves his two daughters, Tawny S. (Harry) Stefan Kniess of Euclid and Tammy L. (Dean) Stefan Shaffer of Cleveland; his son, Thomas C. (Chris) Stefan of Dade City, FL; grandchildren, Gregory and Kimberly Stefan; his sister, Maryann Evans of Florida and his brother, Andrew (Maryann) Stefan also of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara L. Stefan on September 3, 2011.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 7pm at Christ United Presbyterian Church, 1933 Canfield Rd. Youngstown, OH 44511, with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating.
Friends will be received prior to the service from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the church.
