Frank "Joe" Hempstead

Struthers - Frank "Joe" Hempstead, 84, died peacefully May 28, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Hempstead was born June 3, 1931 in Youngstown, a son of John and Irene Veres Hempstead.
He was a Foreman at Republic Steel for 33 years. Joe was a veteran of the United States Army.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and going on bus trips to the casino. Joe was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
He is survived by his children, Bonnie (Ron) Dycman of Canfield, Joe (Elaine) Hempstead of Canton, GA, Cathy Farkas(Alan) of Concord, NH, Steve (Tammy) Hempstead of Duluth, GA, Darlene Hempstead of Florence, KY, Dave Hempstead of Duluth, GA, and John (Jennifer) Hempstead of Hebron, KY; one brother, Charles (Norma) Hempstead of Lowellville; one sister, Irene "Sissy" Orf of Struthers; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Hempstead; and three sisters, Mary Tucker, Kay Tomocik, and Dora Fray.
Per Joe's wishes there will be no services or calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
