Frank T. Yankle, 75 Youngstown- Frank T. Yankle, 75, of Youngstown, died Sunday evening of cancer at his residence. Frank was born August 28, 1931, in New Bedford, Pennsylvania, a son of Frank and Mary Kuzma Yankle. He was a 1949 graduate of East High School and attended Ohio State University. In 1951 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent 4 years as a surgical technician at Burderop Park Hospital in Swindon, England, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Frank was presently employed as Human Resource Director of Envelope 1 in Columbiana. He was formerly Vice President of Dollar Bank, Youngstown Branch and retired as a banking and computer consultant. He also retired from Carpenters and Joiners Local #171. A sports enthusiast, Frank was honored for baseball in the 2001 East High School Hall of Fame. He began his involvement with sports at an early age playing in the Midget âa�A"Aâa�A� Baseball League. He also played football and basketball for Sacred Heart School. In High School, Frank played 3rd base for the 1949 team that went all the way to the Regional Tournament only to lose 1-0 in the final game in Bridgeport, OH. While at Ohio State, Frank played Freshman Baseball and before and after the Air Force played âa�A"AAâa�A� baseball. Taking up golf at age 21, Frank had the unique experience, in 1965 of hitting a hole-in-one on a par four, on #17 at Rolling Hills Golf Course and has the trophy to prove it. A scholar as well as an athlete, Frank was a member of the National Honor Society and ranked third in his class. Frank leaves his wife the former Jeanne Good whom he married November 23, 1967; daughter, Lorraine (Jesse) Keen of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; son, Frank (Karen) Yankle of Canfield; step-son, Don (Shelly) Jakovina of Austintown; sister, Wilma Novosel of Cape Coral, Fla.; brother, William Yankle of Youngstown; four granddaughters, Lindsey, Lorin, Landry and Kayla and three step-grandchildren, Don Jr., Casey and Jay. Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynne Lundy. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home.
