Poland - Francis L. Tisler, 67, of Poland, died Tuesday morning at his residence.
Francis, affectionately known as Frank, was born December 18, 1942 in Campbell, a son of Joseph and Anna Perrott Tisler. He was raised in Campbell and moved to Poland in 1976.
He was a 1960 graduate of Ursuline High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was employed at the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company and Easco Aluminum now known as Indalloy. In the 1960's Frank served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves and was activated and deployed in the Philippines.
Frank enjoyed gardening with his father-in-law. The garden was like a maze and together they produced vegetables, strawberries and pumpkins. He was an excellent baker and was especially known for his pizza. He not only baked, but enjoyed sharing all the baked goods with family, neighbors and friends. He was a runner, enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a member of the Greek Catholic Union Bowling League and The Vindicator Golf League. Frank was an active member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Church in Boardman.
His wife the former Evangeline Lolakis, whom he married April 6, 1974, died November 2, 2003; He leaves his mother of Campbell; three daughters, Filia Doctor, Carmel Sattarelle, and Antoinette (Shawntel) Patton all of Poland; four grandchildren, Anthony Tosca, Michael Doctor, Paige and Nomiki Willis; one sister, Louise (Joe) Korhan of Austintown; three brothers, Joe and George (Martha) Tisler all of Campbell and Anthony (Joanne) Tisler of Youngstown.
Besides his father and wife, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Tisler, and father and mother-in-law, Gus and Filia Lolakis, and son-in-law, Michael Doctor.
A Panachida service will be held Friday 9:15 am at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and a Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 am at Infant Jesus of Prague Church in Boardman with Fr. Christopher Burke and Msgr. Alexis Mihalik officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Lowellville.
Friends will be received Thursday from 5-8 pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland, where the Parastis service will be held at 7:00 pm.
