Frank T. Chuey, 83 Poland- Frank T. Chuey, 83, of 1915 Cover Drive, died early Tuesday morning at his residence. Mr. Chuey was born September 6, 1921, in Playford, Pennsylvania, a son of Paul and Sophie Macejko Chuey and came to this area and to Campbell in 1923. He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1939. As a youth, he was an avid baseball player and also boxed in the Golden Gloves Tournament. Mr. Chuey was a sergeant in the Army Medical Corp. during World War II, serving in France and Belgium. For over 30 years he worked as a crane operator in the open hearth department at U.S. Steel, Ohio works, retiring in 1980. He was a charter member of Holy Family Church and enjoyed gardening, carpentry and woodworking projects, and listening to Cleveland Indians games on the radio. He devoted his retirement years to helping with the care of his grandson Brad. The welfare of his family was always his first concern, and his quiet and gentle manner will be remembered by all who knew him. His wife Josephine whom he married August 29, 1946 died April 8, 2002. He leaves behind to mourn him, his son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Karen Chuey of Poland; his grandson Brad; one sister, Irene Meden of Mayfield Village, and one brother Steve of Boardman. Besides his parents and wife, one son Robert Chuey, three sisters, Anna Roman, Christine Chuey and Sophie Hoza and three brothers, Paul, Joseph and Robert Chuey preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Friday, 9:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 10:00 a.m. at Holy family Church. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
