Frank Vincent Calve, 89 Boardman- Frank Vincent Calve, 89, of Shepherd of the Valley, formerly of Fifth Street in Struthers died Monday morning at the nursing home. Mr. Calve was born January 23, 1915 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania a son of Frank Sr., and Theresa Drago Calve. He came to Struthers in 1948. He was a shoe repairman for over 79 years beginning his career at the age of nine. He owned and operated, Frankâa�a��s Shoe Repair in Struthers from 1948 until 2002. When in Ellwood City he worked at the National Tube Company for 10 years and later in Struthers, the Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 18 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church where he was active in the Holy Name Society, the Holy Name breakfast and St. Nicholas Festival. He was a member of St. Anthonyâa�a��s Club, Sonâa�a��s of Italy Lodge #1122, Struthers Business Association and the Master Shoe Repair Association. Besides his wife the former Leanna Giancola whom he married April 28, 1945 he leaves one daughter, Darlene (Gary) Caswell of Poland; one son, Richard (JoAnn) Calve of Boardman; three sisters, Rose Macri of Edinburg, Elizabeth Tropea of Bessemer and Margaret Crispino of Rochester, Pennsylvania; three brothers, John Calve of Beaver Falls, Ralph Calve of New Castle and Robert Calve of Hillsville; three grandchildren, Terra Caswell, Mandi (Don) Mitchell and Richie Calve. Besides his parents, two sisters, Josephine Crispino and Mary Macri preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Thursday, 9:30 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Church. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
