Struthers - Frank "Sonny" Annichine, 70, of Struthers, departed this life Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Frank was born August 11, 1940 in Youngstown, a son of Francis and Drucella "Daisy" Gentile Annichine. He was a life-long resident of Struthers.
He attended Struthers High School and left before graduating to help his mother raise his siblings. Shortly after that he was drafted into the United States Army Reserves serving in the 348th Engineer Company.
Frank worked in appliance repair for Raybuck & Thomas and then V&V Appliance before purchasing and operating Oscars Appliance in Sharon in 1983. Frank retired in 2005. After retirement Frank started his own handyman business.
Frank enjoyed attending local entertainment activities such as music in the park and church festivals as well as charitable events. He also enjoyed traveling with family. Frank's life was centered around his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a loyal and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather as well as loving son and dependable brother.
His wife, the former Annette Diana, whom he married July 7, 1962, died November 13, 2005. Besides his mother of Struthers, Frank leaves one daughter, Kelley (Michael) Szenborn of Struthers; one son, Frank Paul (Jennifer) Annichine Jr. also of Struthers; four sisters, MaryLou (Paul) Skoloda, Emily Yemma and Lucy (Lewis) Bezjak all of Struthers and Diana (Pat) Carney of Poland; one brother, Michael (Janet) Annichine of Struthers and three grandchildren Carly, Diana, and Julia.
Besides his wife Annette, Frank was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10:00 am at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland with Fr. Bernard Bonnot officiating. Interment will follow at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
