Struthers - Frances Ann Yallech, 67, died Saturday afternoon, July 26, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Miss Yallech was born March 12, 1947 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Don and Jennie Yallech. She was a proud resident of the Nebo section of Struthers.
She was a 1965 graduate of Struthers High School. Frances began her lifelong love for music playing clarinet in the high school marching band and taking accordion lessons. She also studied organ and played often at her home.
Frances began her career in health care as a candy striper at Southside Hospital. She received her LPN degree from The Choffin School of Practical Nursing and her RN Degree from Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1972. She worked for Southside Hospital and retired from Northside Hospital in 2010. Fran was an active member of the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association, the District Three Ohio Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.
She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. Frances enjoyed books, television, movies and theater. She had a fascination for Native American history and folklore. She made crafts and crocheted many afghans for family and friends. She was an animal lover who cherished her dogs and cared for many faithful companions throughout the years.
Frances is survived by her sister, Joanie Mountford of Boardman; brother, Don Yallech of Struthers; niece, Kimberly (Tom) Johnston; nephews, David (Lynn) Buranich and Robbie (Liz) Buranich; and her latest pup, Apache.
A prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
