Frances I (Komp) McIntire

November 26, 1925 — May 4, 2016

North Lima - Frances I. McIntire, 90, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. She was born November 26, 1925 in McKeesport, PA, to the late, Matthew and Katie Murray Komp.

Fran was a 1943 graduate of Youngstown South High School. She was employed at Ohio Bell, starting as an operator and later working in the sales department, until starting her family. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. Fran was a former member of the Boardman PTA and was very involved with the school system while her children were attending. She loved babysitting her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. Fran was an avid baseball fan and loved the Cleveland Indians. She had a love for music, was a wonderful singer and sang at weddings and in the Ohio Bell Choir. Family was the most important aspect of Fran's life and she cherished the times she spent with them.

Surviving are daughters, Nancy (Bill) Cipperley of Boardman, Mary Lynn (Tim) Whetstone of Columbus, Joyce (Phil) Faulkner of Norcross, GA and Judy (Clark) White of Chagrin Falls; one son, Robert (Rosemary) McIntire of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Katie, Jeff, Hannah, Cody, Abby, Tyler, Scott, Cory, Bess, Claire, Claudia, Tucker and Harrison and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McIntire in 2009; her daughter, Karen Piette; sisters, Ruth Slife and Jane Hickman and her brother, Ed Komp.

Prayer services will be Monday, at 9:15am at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10am at Holy Family Parish with Msgr. William Connell as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 5-7pm at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home.
