Frances Marando

Frances Marando, 74 Frances Marando,74, died Saturday evening at home in Struthers. She was born in Struthers, July 7, 1929, the daughter of Natale and Maria Serge Agresta. Mrs. Marando was a 1947 graduate of Struthers High School, attended YSU and earned her B.A. and Masterâa�a��s degrees at Westminster College. She worked at McKelveyâa�a��s, taught high school English for 31 years ( 28 at Struthers High School), was drama club advisor at Struthers High School, supervised student teachers through YSU and worked with College Boards grading SAT IIâa�a��s. She belonged to St. Nicholas Church, where she was parish council and lector, Struthers Federal Credit Union ,where she was board member and secretary, Delta Kappa Gamma (an honorary teacherâa�a��s organization),` and Goodwill Junior Group of Youngstown. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ross Marando, three sons, Michael ( Mary Jo) of Poland, Nat (Melodie) of Hubbard, and Frank of Struthers a brother, Pat Agresta of Struthers, a sister Rose Agresta of Struthers, and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Dominic and a sister Julia. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St. Poland and 10:00 a. m. at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. Friends may call Tueday from 5:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
