YOUNGSTOWN - Frances E. Colabine, 87, died Sept. 27, 2013, at Park Vista Retirement Center.
Mrs. Colabine was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Atlanta, daughter of John and Katie Dinsmore Epperson.
She was the Valedictorian of the 1944 class of Scienceville High School. Frances worked at Standard Oil from 1944 to 1973 and at Youngstown State University from 1982 to 1997. She was an active member of the Coitsville United Presbyterian Church, where she was the choir director from 1970 to its closing in 2013.
Her husband, Lewis D. Colabine, whom she married July 29,1953, died March 17,1994.
She is survived by her son, David (Teresa) Colabine of West View, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Warden of Boardman and Judy Bello of North Carolina; one brother, John Epperson of Lake Mary, Fla.; and two grandsons, Lewis and Ryan.
Besides her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Helfenstein
Services will be held at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Robert Offerdahl officiating. There will also be a prayer memorial with Pastor Alan Hutchinson preceding over the prayer at 4 p.m. at Park Vista Retirement Center's South Chapel
