POLAND - Florence Theisen, 86, died Monday afternoon, March 3, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Florence was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Cleveland, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Trzcinski.
She graduated from Garfield Heights High School and soon met the love of her life. Florence was a loving wife of 65 years, who was greatly loved and cherished by her husband, Ted.
Florence was a strong, wise, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who taught so many life lessons, always with a touch of humor. She was so proud of her family and treasured every moment of their time together.
Florence's love of flowers was evident around her home and she was an avid reader of many, many books. Florence was a member of the Holy Family Parish.
Florence is survived by her husband, Lawrence "Ted," whom she married Sept. 20, 1948; seven children, David (Suzanne) Theisen, Linda (Charles) Hoover, Dan (Shelia) Theisen, Laura (Rick) Snode, Susan (Leo) Henry, Patty Stanley and Barbara Brown; 19 grandchildren, Steven Theisen, Jennifer Schulman, Cherilyn Steele, Michael and Timothy Hoover, Melissa Kuhns, Laura Kean, Matthew Theisen, Nicole Strbich, Emily, Bethany and Mary Snode, Nicholas Henry, Rebecca Mancini, Tanner, Cole, Jessica, Brooke and Ty Stanley; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her two sisters, Tilly Jones and Dorothy Trzcinski; and brother, John Mihalik.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 12:15 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Holy Family Parish. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
