Poland- Florence A. Sopko, 89, died August 14, 2017 at the Victoria House. Mrs. Sopko was born September 12, 1927 in Zanesville, OH, a daughter of John and Helen Jewell Wietelmann.
She was a 1945 Woodrow Wilson High School graduate. Florence was a homemaker and was a floral designer for Dick Adgate Florist. She was a member of the Faith Community Covenant Church in Youngstown, former member of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the Brownlee Woods Senior Citizens.
Her husband, John, whom she married Oct. 1, 1949, died Nov. 22, 2008.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Sopko of Boardman; one son, J. Thomas Sopko of Cambridge, Mass.; two sisters, Ruth Smith of Poland and Dorothy McClelland of Boardman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by infant child, Robert John Sopko; and one sister, Eleanor Schmidt.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, where friends and family will be received one hour prior.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Victoria House for the their exceptional care and compassion.
